I have been working on virtual reality and human-computer interaction for six years now.
All my studies question the fundamental aspects and pragmatical applications of virtual reality,
and in particular the question of the sense of "being there", aka presence. I describe and measure it, observe its relationships with other human factors
(gender, cybersickness, cognitive style, human-computer interaction...) and evaluate its impact on behavior. I consider virtual reality as a scientific model for the study of perception and concsciousness, outlining possibilities to experimentally study fascinating phenomenological concepts by altering reality.

I design, program and carry out experimental virtual studies to investigate the science behind virtual reality (psychology of perception, multisensory integration, sensorimotor loops, embedded cognition),
in order to provide a rigorous and methodological framework of the tool. I'm also perpetually looking for virtual reality applications
ideas in science, health, education, journalism, arts. It has been said that virtual reality is an answer without questions. I'm trying to refine the answer and find some questions.
- During my PhD at the Université de Caen and Université de Montréal at the Interdisciplinary Center for Virtual Reality I built three experiments and environments (Neuropresence, Spatiopresence, Edupresence)
in order to implement some traditional cognitive task (executive functions, spatial cognition, semantic learning) in virtual reality and look what happens.
These applications constitute the heart of my Doctoral Thesis which aims to provide a methodological framework of virtual reality in scientific research. I ended up programming a software which could help evaluating the human-computer interaction in virtual reality. I have notably largely contributed
to the sense of presence comprehension, and more particularly its relationship with other human factors, attentional ressources and virtual performance, and to the applications of virtual reality in cognitive evaluations and rehabilitations.

I have lived in Canada & France, I'm fluent in English & French, reasonably ok in Spanish. Even though I'm not a professional developper, I have a solid grasp on Unity3D and C#.
I'm very good at using search engines and other resources to build my virtual reality programs, like Starwalker, a minigames virtual platform intended for the rehabilitation of kinesiophobic children. I have been building websites, games,
games modes and video/photo editing since I'm 10 years old and still love to learn "how-to" by myself. I have more than often worked in team with programmers, engineers, medical practitioners and other scientists, and still love to spend a few nights building a virtual environment and looking for a compiler error.
I promote opensource projects and open science, and I use Linux as much as possible. I'm also very interested in computer sciences, philosophy and technological/classical arts.
I might play some RTS and MOBA games which explains why I'm also a JASS language aficionado. Finally, I only do a nightmode version for my websites.
